What You’ll Learn

Search and recovery diving combines planning, navigation, and specialized techniques. In this course, you’ll learn how to:

• Plan and organize search patterns for different scenarios
• Use search patterns such as circular, jackstay, and U-pattern searches
• Effectively communicate and coordinate with your dive buddy or team
• Properly rig and use lift bags for underwater recovery
• Locate and recover small to large objects safely
• Tie knots and use lines for controlled searches
• Manage task loading while maintaining buoyancy and awareness
• Handle object retrieval with safety and efficiency in mind
