The Fun Part:
The best part about Emergency First Response (EFR) training is that you learn critical emergency medical skills in an environment that’s both fun and supportive. By the end of the course, you’ll feel confident that you are ready to help in an emergency.
What You Learn in the EFR Primary and Secondary Care Courses:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR and rescue breathing at the layperson level
- Automated External Defibrillator (AED) use (optional)
- Preventing and caring for shock
- Spinal injury management
- Use of barriers to reduce disease transmission risk
- Basic first aid and how to use a first aid kit
The Learning Materials You Need:
The training combines independent study and hands-on practice with an instructor. You'll receive:
- Primary and Secondary Care elearning for emergency scenario previews
- Care at a Glance card: a handy reference for emergency situations
Prerequisites:
To enroll, you simply need a desire to help others and be prepared to assist in a medical emergency.
Your Next Adventure:
After completing the Primary and Secondary Care elearning, consider combining it with PADI Rescue Diver or Emergency Oxygen Provider. These certifications will give you the skills needed to manage scuba emergencies, rounding out your dive safety training.
