The Fun Part:
The Advanced Open Water Diver course helps you build your confidence and fine-tune your scuba skills, making you more comfortable in the water. It's the perfect way to gain more experience and continue learning under the supervision of a PADI Instructor. This course introduces you to exciting new activities and dives, expanding your capabilities.
What You’ll Learn:
You’ll complete five adventure dives, including:
- Underwater navigation
- Deep diving (typically 18-30 meters/60-100 feet)
- Choose three more adventure dives from a wide range of options, including:
- Digital Underwater Imaging
- Altitude Diving
- Night Diving
- Search and Recovery
The Fun Part: Your Choice
One of the best things about the course is the freedom of choice. You and your instructor will select from 15 types of Adventure Dives, tailoring your experience to your interests.
Prerequisites:
- Must be a PADI Open Water Diver (or equivalent from another organization)
- 15 years old (or 12 for Junior Advanced Open Water Diver)
- Complete the PADI Continuing Education Form and PADI Medical Form
What You’ll Learn:
- Deep diving practical and physiological aspects
- How to use your underwater compass for navigation
- Navigating using kick cycles, visual landmarks, and time
- Using your dive computer and Recreational Dive Planner™ (eRDP™)
- And much more, based on the Adventure Dives you choose
The Scuba Gear You Use:
You'll use basic scuba gear, including an underwater compass, and may also be introduced to specialty equipment like underwater imaging gear, a dive light, lift bags, and dive flags depending on your chosen dives.
Learning Materials:
The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver elearning provides valuable information on more than 10 specialty diving areas, guiding you to improve your diving skills and experience new adventures.
